C Baobab

Founded in 1998, Circus Baobab is a collective of circus artists from Guinea and the diaspora, blending the traditional modes of expression of West African festive events with the new writings of contemporary circus. The creation of her new show "Yongoyély" (l'exciseuse in Soussou dialect) pays tribute to the power of women, their fundamental role in the economic development of a country, their ability and power to mediate between generations, and to educate young people in social and human values. Above all, it pays tribute to women's resilience in the face of life's many trials and tribulations, such as female circumcision, violence, end-of-life support and bereavement. This will be the first circus creation on the continent to tackle this theme.
